Australia is a country (and continent) popular with Singaporeans and Malaysians, be it to go on holiday, study or live in. A prime example would be the city, Melbourne. Melbourne has been voted by the Economist Intelligence Unit as the most livable city for the 7th year in a row, and it houses prestigious Universities like the University of Melbourne and RMIT. It’s no surprise that Melbourne is a popular destination. Me, I was drawn by the allure of cafes, and the sheer desire for a holiday! After my first hellish semester in my second year of Polytechnic wrapped up, I hopped on a Singapore Airlines flight to the land down under for my first ever trip to Melbourne!

TCD is BACK!!!!!

Crazy as this might sound, when I went for my holiday last year to Japan and Hong Kong, I didn’t get to accomplish quite a few things I had planned… Didn’t get to meet a friend in Japan, didn’t get a custom-made suit done in Hong Kong, and finally, didn’t go to a very famous cafe in Hong Kong called The Coffee Academics.

Department of Caffeine Review

Cafes… They are definitely a bunch of them popping up, be it in the Heartlands, Downtown or the Central Business District… But, unfortunately there are only a few that have really rose up to the occasion and received recognition! One such example would be the Department Of Caffeine, which the Telegraph, a British Newspaper… Called one of the best Coffee shops in the world!

Tiong Hoe Speciality Coffee Review

For as long as I can remember, there was a little shop on the ground floor, in the block opposite my Grandmother’s one. That stall would be selling all kinds of coffee beans, and that’s it, no cups of coffee. It was run by a Mr.Tan Tiong Hoe, and he been in the business of coffee since the 1960s. Now, in 2014, a cafe named after him had opened at the same spot selling Coffee beans and aristanal Coffee! With such a rice history and background of Coffee, the aficionado in me had to try it out!
