Hello people! It’s been a while since I wrote a quick review. Now this place was a recommendation by a close friend. It’s a sort of bar/restaurant/hipster café, a kind of hybrid in a way. From fancy looking coffees to unique pasta creations, this place sort of hits a sweet spot with me. You can get anything from cakes, to coffee to a whole meal. (They even serve breakfast!) So this place seemed like a good choice.
Upon entry you will see that there is contrast in the whole place. The building, the pillars and ceiling all seemed rather run down and rustic. However the furniture and fittings were new and modern. This contrast was cool and for some reason it fitted in, specially with the modern machines that makes the Coffee and Food. Also, the couches were so comfy, I had a 2 hour conversation with absolutely no discomfort at all!
Anyway, on to the food!
So first thing first, the Truffle Fries ($12.90). Most places are now getting on to the fad train of Truffle Fries. These fries were well made but I found nothing outstanding about them. But, the combination of what I presumed was a Lemon Butter sauce was different and it blended well.
As for the truffles cream pasta with Italian pork sausage, it was rather good. The pasta was cooked al-dente and wasn’t too soft or hard. The sausage was grilled well, but the outer skin was a little overcooked, but the inside was well cooked, juicy and with a spicy edge to it! It definitely was a nice contrast to the creamy and simple flavor of the pasta. The truffle flavor in the pasta wasn’t too strong, just enough you know it’s there but not so strong that it overpowered the flavour of the Cream.
The Latte ($4.50) was pretty good, strong robust flavor and served just nice for sipping. My only gripe would be that the cups were not very practical. The drink is hot and the cup was thin and had no handle to it. So I had to hold this hot cup in order to drink, which was a race to not feel too much pain. (Unfortunately, there is no photo of the drink as I accidentally deleted it…)
All in all it was a good experience and a good place to chill & chat (they also serve alcohol, if that’s what you require). The whole meal including an extra ice mocha costs $50++. Which isn’t too bad but isn’t cheap by any means. Nothing outstanding, just good experience and good food.
