Ramen & Tonkatsu Ma Maison Quick Review

Tucked in the Basement of the new Capitol Piazza, sits a rather lively and vibrant restaurant next to the Fountain… At first glance, you might think it is just another Japanese Restaurant, but this is actually part of the famous Ma Masion group, the same group behind some rather notable restaurants in the Central Mall and Chijmes. What they do is very simple and classic, Ramen and Tonkatsu!

One thing I like about them, is that they haven’t messed around with their limits of a Menu. They only do Ramen and Tonkatsu with a few appetisers like Gyoza, and I believe that the most ordered item would the Tonkatsu and Ramen Set ($19.80).

You can choose between Hire and Rosu for your Tonkatsu, my personal preference is for Rosu, the Pork Loin. The Tonkatsu itself, was slightly overcooked and dry, but the coating was thin and crisp! The lettuce is not refillable by the way…

The Ramen was nice, the Shio (Salt) Broth was slightly flat in taste but the Noodles were springy and al-dente…

In conclusion, if you do want to eat Ramen and Tonkatsu and you are in town… Why not go to Ramen & Tonkatsu Ma Maison?
